Prepare for blast-off

Right now I'm just waiting for my period to start; what we in the "trying to conceive" slice of the public call CD1 (cycle day one). As I write, my prescriptions are being filled so I can start Clomid on CD3.

I don't remember any dramatic side effects from the last time I took it. I've read many ancedotal stories and forum posts about how moody it has made other women, but I don't recall that I experienced any mood swings. Although, I'm a little more concerned this time. As we get nearer the end of the school year, I'm already in a foul mood.

Lyrically Speaking

So boy while you chip in some understanding, I'll make a deal with my mess
And cleaning up what I wanna be saying is my first big step
When I close my eyes and everything I run into
Is stubbing me with bruises of memories of you

All Clear!

Two important facts:
  1. The HSG was not as bad as last time. In fact, the doc (I still need to come up with a good pseudonym for him) kept asking me to rate my level of discomfort/pain on the 0 to 10; I never got above a 2. (Okay, I got to 3 for about 15 seconds, but it passed).
  2. My tubes are all clear and ready to go.

An interesting side note is that, although I believed that it was BS that your uterus returned to its pre-pregnancy size after birth, and even though the doctor told me it had done that I still didn't believe him, it's true. I saw it myself on the monitor and everything looked the exactly the same as it did two years ago.

In Training for the Boston Marathon

No, not really. But wouldn't that be cool?

What I am doing is running, three to four times a week, on the treadmill in my home gym while watching DVDs of Northern Exposure.

There's a phenomenon that makes it feel 20 degrees warmer than it really is when you run. (Or actually, that you should dress as if it is 20 degrees warmer because you warm up as you run). That means that even though our basement is usually about 62 degrees, we still have a ceiling fan and two tower fans in the gym. I've actually seen the room temperature climb (we have an atomic clock with a digital thermometer) by several degrees as I run. I know the human body generates heat, but it still surprised me.
